As you recall, I've submitted Set To Kill, sequel to It was Only on Stun!, to Castalia House, owned by the dread and Supreme Dark Lord himself, Vox Day.
But in any event, I prefer my rejections quick and to the point.
Yes, I presume that there will be a rejection. Sure, more people voted for me in Sad Puppies 4 than anyone short of John C Wright, but it's not like that translates into "good enough for Castalia." Lord knows that no reasonable publisher wants my stuff. Heck, I'm happy I even had 25 fans willing to burn votes on me in SP4.
But I'm not John C. Wright. I'm not Tom Kratman. Heck, I'm not even Larry Correia or John Ringo. Lord knows that Baen hasn't wanted any of my stuff. I know, I asked. Also, they have an 18 month turnaround time on submissions, and I am so very tired of having to wait. After all, sharks move forward, or die. I either move forward, or work myself into a breakdown because I'm trying to produce more and faster, or pace around the place, because that, of course, will make things happen faster, right?
Obviously not, but if I dwell too much on what happens next, I go crazy.
In short, I prefer not having a breakdown, thank you.
Besides, if you keep moving, they can't get you.
Can you tell that I'm a little tightly wound? You know, sort of like a cheap watch. Don't worry, I'll live. Though if Castalia takes me, I might die from shock.
